Nuno Durão emphasized the urgent need to streamline bureaucratic procedures to meet growing demand from high-net-worth international buyers and to enhance the global competitiveness of Portugal’s prime property market.

Luxury Real Estate in Portugal: Growth and Challenges

Portugal remains a top destination for luxury real estate investment, thanks to its safety, climate, and quality of life. However, the panel agreed that excessive red tape continues to delay projects and hinder investment.

Initiatives like Simplex could be a game-changer, facilitating faster project approvals and encouraging further investment in high-end real estate across key regions such as Lisbon, Cascais, and the Algarve.
